It provides information regarding competence; history, contacts and cases heard in the Šiauliai Regional Court and district courts, which are within its activity territory. The Šiauliai Regional Court is one among five regional courts operating in the Republic of Lithuania, hearing civil and criminal cases, attributed to its competence by laws by the first instance, cases related to district courts‘ decisions, judgments, rulings and orders by appellate instance as well as carrying out other functions ascribed to its competence by laws. There are ten district courts within the territory of the Šiauliai Regional Court. According to the order of 15 June 1994 „Regarding establishment of the Lithuanian Supreme Court, Lithuanian Appeal Court and regional courts, establishment of activity territories for regional and district courts as well as reformation of the Prosecutor‘s Office of the Republic of Lithuania“, it was established that the activity territory of the Šiauliai Regional Court comprises the following: the territory of the Šiauliai city district court, activity territories for district courts in Akmenė, Joniškis, Kelmė, Mažeikiai, Pakruojis, Radviliškis, Raseiniai, Šiauliai and Telšiai districts.
